Those looking into timetravel will also need a power source that is plentiful, understand if time travel is possible I doubt the electrons in a battery will stick around during your travel. Strong magnetic fields can drain a battery. And flamable gasaline in a generator doesnt sound that safe either not knowing what kind of energy and possible sparks may be present during a trip.

So comeover and help on this power project and you will be one step closer to time traveling machine.

The most practical power source for a time traveller is the sun or other stars, since they've been around longer than mankind and will surely surpass him. If one gets stuck in an undeveloped time or place, then low maintenance machinery will be most desireable.
 
theres this guy named john hutchison who came up with this really good material to use in batteries that makes them last virtually forever. talk him into making you a football field sized battery and there ya go
