Outlander!

Temporal Novice
Folks - if you've got STARZ or can get STARZ through your Amazon Prime account, do yourselves a favor and watch OUTLANDER. Time Travel theme... yes. Woman from the 1940s travels accidentally back to 1745 in the Scottish Highlands, just prior to the Jacobite Rebellion. While there are references throughout that she is from the future - it's not a sci-fi show - it's pure art. Filmed on stunning locations with excellent actors, and a fair degree of historical accuracy, it's a richly produced, delicious series. Warning to the potentially sensitive: It can be pretty graphic. Like, really, really graphic. But never, ever gratuitously so - every graphic scene is justified by the impact it needs to have to serve the story line.

I watch very, very little television. This series is worth every second. Give it a shot if you can - and let me know if it meets with my review.

What kind of impression did you get from that first one?
Honestly, it seemed very slow and dramatic, but I can't make a judgement from just the first episode.  They could have just been building up background information.

I felt the same way going into the first episode of Game of Thrones without having read the books. By the end I was a little bored, but then the incest and pushing a child out of a window thing happened so it got me to keep watching ;) This show sounds similar so I'll add it to my list of things to do during not sleeping at night, LOL.
