Nickel from 2067: A Lesson

My first inclination was to simply post this photo and allow everyone to debate:

But, I decided to make this a lesson. This nickel is the exact reason why we cannot blindly accept anything on the internet as absolute truth. This photo is being passed around and people are analyzing it and debating it. This is fine, because we really should question what is displayed to us as "truth". The media does this to us on a daily basis.

Is this really a coin from 2067? Is it fake? Was it dropped by a time traveler?

I suppose the time traveler could have dropped his snack.

Should we consult an expert? Perhaps a chocolate expert?

I hope we've learned something today. Enjoy.

I don't see a pic.
Fixed! Thanks for letting me know.
On topic, I've not seen this before but agree that it's a great example. People like to get swept up in magical thinking (which is fine), but we shouldn't let it influence our decision making.

Artifacts from the past and now from future.Where I live?

Theater of absurd.?
Well, it isn't really from the future.  The point was that we can't just blindly accept things without studying and questioning.  We can be easily deceived that way.

Totally agree with PaulaJedi. If it cannot be tested, then we shouldn't become too enthusiastic about it. That's the basic principle of science.

I was actually being sarcastic about the expert thing.  At any rate, the coin is a piece of chocolate that is not from the future.

Has any scientific data been presented that proves the nickle is not from the future? NO !

Seems we need to secure a government grant and thoroughly examine it.

Can't judge a book by it's cover. Or, in this instance, an object inside what appears to be some sort of pliable metal. A MRE from the future? Perhaps there is something at the molecular level that's never been seen before , now or in the past.

But it's chocolate! LOL. It could be chocolate from the future, though. Wonder how it tastes.
