NEW NBC Series "Journeyman"

Re: NEW NBC Series \"Journeyman\"

Looks very interesting. Smells an awful lot like Quantum Leap (going back in time, setting things right), just hopefully not as cheesy.

I will admit... I watched it. And I kinda liked it. How the dude saved his marrige was great! No quantim leap because he will always return home and he can do stuff in the past to affect the present... I liked the Saveing the marrige drama... What can a say? I'm a romantic.

Re: NEW NBC Series \"Journeyman\"

Yea that ending was great. This thread is the only place I heard of the show. I don't understand how he knows that he'll always go home. Or what technology is making him jump back. Did they say what his job was?

Re: NEW NBC Series \"Journeyman\"

And NBC apparently has issued an order for at least three more scripts before the possible Writer's Guild Strike. That's good news for Journeyman.

The three major networks had their eyes opened earlier this year when CBS tried to cancel "Jerico". Twenty-two thousand pounds of bagged peanuts later they decided to order seven more scripts for a show that was DOA.

"Or what technology is making him jump back."

Yes, that is what ticks me off a little about this show.

Imagine watching "Back to the Future" and they don't say or show how Marty McFly goes back in time? /ttiforum/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I know it's just a TV show, but with the name "Journeyman" you would think they would at least show how he travels in time. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: NEW NBC Series \"Journeyman\"

If they end up saying it's his DNA doing it then that'd bug me. I'd like to see a big machine powered by diesel generators with a lot of people working on it, and wires and tubes, and noises...

Off topic but that new "Chuck" series about the spy who works in an electronics store has been keeping me entertained.

Yes, some type of machine. It just looks like he thinks about it and it happens.

TitorTime,

But this unknown is a central theme of the series. They've dropped some hints but we, the audience, have to travel along with Dan Vassar and Livia Beale to discover what it's all about.

Remember, he did receive an unsolicited phone call on his cell phone in 1986 (?) from the physicist at Lawrence Livermore right after he had spoken to him (Dan's proper time) in 2007 in his office at the newspaper about tachyons and time travel.

That was pretty cool. I hope the prof comes back a lot. I missed this weeks show though and my computer didn't record it for some reason /ttiforum/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Someone told me the show reminded her of a book called the time travelers wife and they chalked up the TT in the book to "DNA" so I'm kinda worried...

Darby,

I know. I'm just so used to the standard "let you know in advance" deal with most time travel stories. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I guess I'm just impatient.

Re: NEW NBC Series \"Journeyman\"

bogz,

You can dopwnload the episode from Amazon "Unboxed" for $1.99. I don't think that NBC is playing full episode repeats on their "Journeyman" web page.

I get that way too.

I usually buy "Lost" and "24" season passes and wait for the season to run...and then I watch them.

Because Journeyman is a new show I had to start watching up front to see if it was any good. Now I'm hooked.

And there's no season pass for it.

Re: NEW NBC Series \"Journeyman\"

I've been downloading the series on a torrent site. I love this show. I still do not know what makes him travel through time.

Re: NEW NBC Series \"Journeyman\"

That's what they get for not putting in a big giant machine with blinking lights. That sucks though I really liked it, there's always the Sara Connor Chronicles that starts next week I think.
