My world line created your world line.

Time travel_Ο

Temporal Navigator
My timeline turned into yours after the actions taken.

There were two problems.

First was a global war

Second was a computer failure due to the first trouble.

We managed to delay the start of the war and create the necessary conditions for the transfer of all computer systems to 64 bits, which led to the emergence of your (i.e. our) world line.

In the future my worldline managed to fix a massive computer glitch after 2038, but this has led to the fact that there are now two versions of worldlines.

In the first version of the worldline, there was a war in 2015 and a collapse of all computer systems in 2038, which was corrected due to actions taken in the past (1975 and 2000).

The second version of the worldline came about because of actions taken in 1975 and 2000 that caused the war to not happen in 2015, computers had time to move to 64 bits, but in this version the war would still happen in the next 12 years.

In other words, trying to fix the main worldline resulted in your worldline because the computer had to take 1975 from someone else's worldline (yours worldline) so as not to change the timeline of the main worldline,

Can you move between different timelines? Can you see what happens in each of them? Do you know if the timelines can connect? How many lines are there?
A prototype time machine allows you to travel between world lines.

What would you choose, a world line where in 2015 there was a world war, then 20 years later the only remaining computers were destroyed and the world from scratch.

Or

A world line where there is a small chance that a world war will not happen, but in the near future there will be total control, lack of choice, lack of privacy, democracy?

So far, only two world lines. Both lines have been described above.

If we look at this world-line's history. WWI: Europe was at war for nearly 2 and a half years before the U.S entered. WWII: Germany invaded Poland, two years later Pearl Harbor is attacked. Who knows how long if they had not attacked PH, it would have taken to get involved. The Lusitania was sunk carrying Allied Supplies. 1941, the Lend-Lease Act allowed the U.S to supply allied efforts for WW2. Ukraine, and Isreal are being aided by us now.
My point is, at the rate the world is moving, WW3 is going to happen, if it hasn't begun already.

P.S Thanks for the pics. They look really healthy.

There is a big difference between John's world line and our world line - in our world line the war has not happened yet, but in his world line it is already a fact, so in our case everything can still be fixed, I will take all possible actions to unite citizens and prevent the disintegration of the country.

This will be facilitated by a project we are preparing, but I will never tell you what this project is, you will find out about it early next year on your own without my involvement simply because the project will be talked about all over the world, before Trump takes office as president.

I have been thinking about that. Are you aware of the top reason why people dismissed John. Not that people don't want to believe time travel is real. Because they do. Instead, he was dismissed for the big predictions he made that didn't happen. I know there are logical reasons, or possible reasons for that. But if just one prediction doesn't come true, all will be dismissed.

My conclusion up until recently was that knowing the future would only be possible if a time travel never interacts with the past. Like viewing a crystal ball, only observing the past. Any and all interactions would be like closing your eyes before swinging at a ball. You might have all the good intentions or bad, but to know exactly how your actions will affect reality would be impossible.
For Instance, if someone told that kid from PA to aim a little to the right. The reverberations that action creates would be impossible to predict all the reactions, and the way an individual reacts could start domino-effect by affecting everyone around that individual, and then those individuals' reactions, then the people watching online, and on t.v, and so on and on.
Making predicting the future in itself a paradox.

Which I think John wasn't claiming that these things would happen, but instead to warn people that they could happen.

You're right, the chronology can be changed, but it's best not to.

The thing is that in John's world line 4 years after the appearance in 2000 there was the collapse of the US, a series of crises and wars, then in 2015 a global war, you can't change that. But in this world line, the war will happen in the first half of the 2030s.

I never tried to influence history, it's destructive to world lines. You are only allowed to create new worldlines and change your future at the expense of these worldlines. That's how this worldline came into being.

In order to limit my biases, I prefer to think of these conversations as a movie script.
With that said, we have to consider if events make sense towards the plot.
For instance, in 2030 much of the software that times out in John's line was not updated due to the civil war. So, the need for a the IBM machine was critical.
However, in this world line, the need would be less critical. Meaning that the funding for the research given to CERN to build a time machine was more 11th hour, similar to the space race, or the Manhattan Project. The Future tech that John described actually lined up with the needs of their particular scenario. There would not be a need for the Roomba in John's future. However, that piece of crap sold better than the pet rock in this world line, because our situation was different. Why?
In order for the plot to continue making sense, something had to have changed. Something Big. Y2K perhaps?
If something was supposed to happen then, would 9-11 still have occurred? So on...?

This worldline is different in that it was created artificially: the computer could not get into the worldline where the war happened, as that would change the timeline. So a stop had to be made in the year 2000 and a series of actions had to be performed to create this worldline, within the boundaries of which the computer was taken from the past and transported to 2036 to fix the future of the main worldline.

This led to the existence of this worldline, where 12 years later the war where the twin towers were destroyed will begin. This worldline acts as a sort of “donor” for the 2036 worldline.

This worldline contains total chaos in the world since 2000, only because this worldline came into existence due to a time machine, the existence of which causes the instability of the timeline.

I would say it is the result of an experiment.

"The computer could not get into the worldline where the war happened, as that would change the timeline."

The on-board cpu couldn't return to the world from where it originated.

"This led to the existence of this worldline, where 12 years later the war where the twin towers were destroyed will begin. This worldline acts as a sort of “donor” for the 2036 worldline."

Is this a riddle?

"This worldline contains total chaos in the world since 2000, only because this worldline came into existence due to a time machine, the existence of which causes the instability of the timeline."

If by total chaos, you mean a bunch of morons with no integrity or honor have been running this planet into the ground, with zero forethought for future generations, all to horde pieces of paper with stamps on them? Paper they can't take to the grave but will clench a wad of it as they lay dying in their beds, never once considering the act of doing so, represents the very state of the broken social constructs he helped build and perpetuate.

I don't know where you are going with all this, but I don't think a time traveler can fix this mess.

After all, maybe the walk to the nearest gas station will do this world-line some good.

* Do me a favor when you have time. It only requires you to listen, so it is something you can do while you do other things.
Check out this link and try to re-capture what cannot be lost to a jaded generation. The overall message must be preserved.

You misunderstood. There are two world lines.

- The first world line is the line that John 2036 came from.

- The second world line is where we're communicating now.

You can't change the course of history, so we didn't try to prevent the war, it would have started more world lines. We're fixing the future.

There is an IBM 5100 in both worldlines, but it only had to be taken from the second worldline, if you try to take a computer from the past of the first worldline, it will change the timeline of the first worldline and this worldline will not come into existence, and the technology to distort gravity originated in the second worldline.

Therefore, we from the future in 2000 spoke that this world line is alien to us, spoke that there are two world lines. Thus, the future of the first world line is saved, the chronology is saved and this world line is saved, as it was created by intervention of the time machine, that is in this world line from its very beginning the existence of the time machine is prescribed.

A little later, I will record a video where I will show how this process works.

It's about the IBM 5100, not the on-board computer.

You misunderstood.

There are two world lines, the first being John 2036.
The second world line is yours.

The main task was to take the computer from 1975, but the plan was built in such a way to take the computer from the second world line in order not to break the chronology of the first world line. When the mission was accomplished it was necessary to return to the year 2000 within this world line, because in the year 2000 a “portal” between the 2 world lines was created, roughly speaking there was a point of return to my world line. That's how you know about traveling.

The route looked something like this [ 2036 worldline 1 - stop in 2000 - change chronology to create another worldline - move to 1975 in another worldline - pick up computer - return to 2000 of this worldline - move from 2000 of the this worldline to 2000 of the first worldline - continue to 2036 ]

2036, because in 2038 all computer systems will stop working, it takes about 2 years to reprogram all systems from 2036 to 2038.
Through this mission, the future of the first world line civilization has been and will be saved.

I see, that does correct the context that I was misunderstanding.

(This is a philosophical question but implies practicality.)

Wheeler had a theory called participatory anthropic principle.
"No phenomenon is a real phenomenon until it is an observed phenomenon."

This may seem out of the blue, but I have been pondering the existence of people.
It seems to me that people are the only species on this planet that doesn't belong.

What happens if you do nothing?

There is an IBM 5100 in both worldlines, but it only had to be taken from the second worldline
It really comes down to who cares about the IBM 5100 other than a reminder that Titor couldn't keep straight which model he was supposed to recover? Titor/TTO said the machine had this super duper secret ability to read older IBM languages, that "Shhhhhhh" all the engineers were sworn on penalty of death or worse to keep secret. That ability was never a secret. The S/360 for APL and S/3 for BASIC emulators were included in the 5100. Why? The 5100 was a rush job and IBM didn't write a new platform for the original model. It was not disclosed in the manual any more than Apple discloses that MacOS is built on the Unix kernel. It's not a secret - its just irrelevant. Going forward they wrote a proper platform that didn't depend on the emulation so it wasn't included.

Boomer could , actually should, have posted in his story that he was sent to 1998 to recover a brand new PC and while he was at it to purchase a proper emulator. That would have made a whole lot more sense than he decided to take some personal days for two ytears and TT to 1998 to visit himself and family. They were, afterall, available. Better, he should have posted that he was supposed to stop off in 2024 and purchase a brand new PC with several terabytes of solid state storage, 64 gig ram, multi core processor, 3 GHz+ processor speed... but no - he was supposed to go to 1975 for a POS 1st gen PC with less computing power than a Texas Instruments hand held calculator available while he was posting.

The IBM 5100 meme has always been a McGuffin in the Titor Saga.

If I may?

I thought about this.

I think this is interesting.

So, if civil war breaks out early 21st century like TTO claimed, many of the UNIX wouldn't be upgraded due to bigger fish to fry with a civil war and then a WW3.

In this world-line, tech evolves differently, because there was no war, or wars, or Y2K for that matter, so the 2036 issue wouldn't be as much of an issue as it would if a massive war broke out.

It would also make sense that a time machine being critical in that timeline, because of all the internal systems would be timing out, and need debugging.
But in this world-line, there would not be a critical push, or any push for a time machine on account of most our internal systems already upgraded to 32 bit and some 64 bit. If I'm wrong about that, I apologize, I am not a Haber brother. lol

If you do nothing, the timeline will develop at its own pace, as if on autopilot.

Unfortunately, you're wrong. This computer is not important in your world line. This computer is important in my world line where technology has not developed after 2000.

In this world line, technology is developing in a different way, roughly speaking you cannot realize the degree of importance of this computer being a resident of this world line.

When in your world line almost all computer systems will stop working, the only option for salvation will be a portable computer sample that was able to simply program in several languages with the ability to reprogram computer systems.

The IBM 5100 has no super secret chips, no features, just a computer that can roll back and restart computer systems.

You can't go back in time and get another computer sample that looks like a big cabinet the size of half a house. You need something portable with a rudimentary “reprogramming” function.
