Microsoft’s new plan is to flood your entire life with artificial intelligence

The mission is clear: if there’s success to be had with any kind of AI, Microsoft wants to be there.And then yesterday, at an intimate press gathering in San Francisco, Microsoft’s AI parade continued! The company announced:

  • a Cortana-powered smart speaker to rival the Amazon Echo and Google Home, made by Harman Kardon
     
     
  • a virtual assistant that lives in your email to help schedule meetings (like x.ai)
     
     
  • a new English-speaking chatbot to replace Tay, called Zo
     
     
  • a new tool for real-time conversation translation
     
     
  • a software developer kit for Cortana for anybody who wants to configure it for a smart speaker or gadget

Truly amazing, but anyone with more than a little paranoia and distrust can see why this could be slightly frightening.

 
I will never upgrade, so I don't have to worry. :) Windows 7 for me all the way!

That is until one day Windows does a stealth update on you. I have read on reddit lots of stories of people waking up to Windows 10. I did the free update from 7 to 10 but now regret doing that horribly.

That would make me so mad. Car makers don't sneak onto your property at night and change out your engine on you, so don't do that to my PC. I have 7 because I like 7. My PC works great just the way it is. I will keep reinstalling 7 if I have to!

 
I would be installing windows 7 again too but I can't find my old windows 7 key. 150 dollars just for a OEM windows 7 Professional is a lot of money for me. Sucks to be poor. :(

I tried to install Windows 7 over my daughter's 10 and it gave an Unknown Error. I think I'd have to reformat first.
