Mathematics creating form and structure

I have always found fractals to be hauntingly beautiful in their intricacy and structure...

It would seem important to have an understanding of how structure and form comes from mathematics... some of these pics posted on the following site are...mind boggling in their complexity..

...and if you believe this has no bearing on time travel *little smile* they are just a bunch of pretty pictures...

wandering soul,
visited the site mentioned above and i have to say they are definetly beautiful to behold. one thing i find interesting is the second gallery called frax flame reminded me of exotic aquatic sea life. life forms deep within the ocean. my favorite was the seventh picture on the frax flame gallery called "fly away".
I also went down and went to the infinite fractal loop to see other web sites on it.
they have some animated ones on other web sites. mathematics in higher form.

I've spent many a late night hour exploring the Mandelbrot set - the spiral intricacy of the Seahorse valley, the joy of finding a tiny duplicate of the M-set within itself.

See if you can find a program like fractint for your system. They're great if you set them to low-res, then ramp up the detail when you get where you're going. Only problem is the render times.
