TEN OBJECTIVE QUESTIONS TO VALIDATE A PREDICTION
If you can answer no to all ten questions, it is a valid prediction.

1. Is the prediction called an actual prediction and not small talk?
2. Is the prediction after the fact or concurrent with the prediction itself?
3. Has the predictor ever made an incorrect prediction?
4. Is it an educated guess?
5. Is it an obvious prediction?
6. Does this prediction coincide with a recent event or trend?
7. Is it a specific prediction and not a vague, generalized prediction?
8. Is the prediction source (not the predictor, the medium) verifiable or logical?
9. Is the point of the prediction to prevent it?
10. Will the predictor benefit from making predictions?

I predict a 15% loss of the value of the dollar overall at the very least.

I also predict a staggering increase in mortgage foreclosures.

And that will lead to a drop in property values.

And an increase in bankruptcy filings.

A general loss of confidence.

A declining Dow.

Hard times.

2007.
