ok heres the deal, there are a plenty of well respected people around here interested in time travel, i havent worked in 5+ years, so heres my idea: if certain other people here have the time and energy, i think it would be cool if we could set up a time travel research project, and get funding from several sources. i would be willing to put 12-15 hours a day into it. heck, i waste that much every day. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

we could then try,test, and expirement with every idea that is out there, and im sure that if we "combine our might" so to speak, then funding wouldnt be terribly hard to get.

i may not have any degrees, i may not be well respected as a brilliant scientist, but what i lack in knowledge, i more than make up in comprehension and enthusiasm.

maybe instead of dreaming, its time to act.
 
i cant make it happen, im a big nobody. but i will devote my time and energy in any way possible. i was hoping maybe darby, or some other person here with the capabilities to give it a shot. heck, i think 'ol darby could figure out time travel if he had the funding. and, of course, if he wanted to do it.
 
Have you considered that the Model of the Universe described by titor was correct and that one can not travel into ones own past but merely a timeline so close like it the differences are negligible? Just wondering. I have all my faith in those black holes.
 
i have considered that. black holes are a little bit hard for me to comprehend, because i find it hard to grasp the idea of turning something into nothing.
 
i think if it was done properly you would receive funding globally.

With my site (not done properly!) i get a web statistics programme where i get to see all kind of things about the ones clicking on my site (what country people are from, operating system etc).
My site was online for nearly 4 weeks and there were people from china (no really), denmark, finland, uk, mexico, all over america, canada, guatemarla, clicking on the site.

Somebody here stated i was only trying to get my money back. But the truth was the pay per click ads more than paid for it. The ads were and are still bringing in about 10 dollars a month. Wow i hear you say, that will break the bank! but the site in total cost 4.64 to set up for 2 years. So annually if the interest lasted that would be 230 dollars profit.

even in the raw state my site was, people did donate into the fund and im sure if i approach these (i have their email addresses and residential addresses), they would be more than willing to fund a little research.

I dont know what its like in america but in the uk there are sci fi conferences etc where there alot of like minded individuals.

If anybody could do it correctly im sure the people here could.

Ps my BSc (Hons) degree is only in natural sciences (ecology, evolution, environmental science etc)
i only touched upon physics for one year, but that was enough to give me a spark.

I have been designing time travel prototypes for 11 years now. I have numerous "parts" awaiting assembly and other parts yet to be completed. I need funding.

1) My first machine started was MRHM. Magnetic Resonating Hallucination Machine. The device alters the users brain wave frequencies to a resonating state that opens up the subconscious mind unto the conscious mind. It creates a lucid dream state in which time and space become a mental exercise of will. The magnetics for teh device are built, the frequency driver is in pieces, with some key components still needing aquisition.

2) Device number two is GPD, or Gravitational Propulsion Drive. In basic terms, this is device that is analogous to a laser, except the lasing medium is metal which has very specific magnetic properties, such that a magnetic field is held stationary in place. This is similar to a Bose-Einstein Condensate which can slow and trap light to motionless state. The magnetic flux, increases to teh point of critical saturation, where a dense magnetic beam is emitted from the non-reflecting end. The beam tip is flexed by using an alternating or rotating secondary magnetic field which can focus teh coherant beam to a singular point. ONe singularity from each 3D axis will create a field (or so I think) that will accept all mass with gravitational force. The event horizon of this field should be a stationary time machine. I am not sure though, if the rotation of the earth and movement of the earths surface around teh solar system, galaxy, and through teh universe need be compensated for. We'll get there when we get there.

As you may have noticed, the two machines approach the theory of time travel in two different ways, one deals with perception the other with matter.

So, I've put it out there. Thats what I do.
 
I can't be involved in a project that doesn't have a full mathematical breakdown of the steps required to time travel. The equations/proofs whatever have to be 'publicly' available too or nobody would take us seriously.

This makes it hard for some people because they could have signed a non disclosure agreement that says any works created while in their employ belong to the employer, even if the engineer makes it after hours using their own assets. There are also non-competition clauses that could prevent people from working on time travel if they previously worked on a similar project somewhere else. In other words, I have my fingers crossed, but I'm not holding my breath.
 
Go to a two-year college and be someone, so like on Dateline last night (Sunday) that you can be told that when they steal all your money with credit card theft that because they are in a foreign Country that nothing can be done but they are looking for ways to deal with that because Microsoft browsers, internet chat rooms, and internet cafe's in South Africa means that when people think they are going to make money listening to some others in foreign countries that you are promised thousands of dollars sending packages out of this Country the USA paid for (and unknown) by credit card theft and they also have you paying to ship the packages out of the Country buying items for sell with credit card ID theft and also have you paying for all of it so that in the foreign Country they also can not find them, as they sell them in their market place and also know how they can make a profit there seeing how everything that was bought and shipped over to that foreign Country had someone else paying for it.

Back to programming -- more subjects for computer games I guess if I ever get advanced enough to learn all it takes to create one and starve while doing it, because Microsoft won't be starving, except for all the people getting ripped off with credit card thefts because some banks don't seem to know about security enough along with others to stop so-called crime gangs around this Planet.

I saw that Dateline Identity Theft program. Pretty amazing stuff. The had a very sophisticated operation praying on lonely people on the internet. The whole operation was pratically invisible.

Another big scam happens when you post your resume on sites like Monster.com, Dice, Career Builder..

They call you up claiming to be head hunters asking for your Social Security Number.

And then following up with phishing email for the rest of your info...

I'm not interested in being involved in any project where math can not describe what is taking place in the experiment. Clear enough?
 
There may be no script, ruthless, but there is certainly a language and that language is mathematics. I have to wholly support the stance that bogz has taken here. It is hard to argue with a statement once made by my former aero engineering prof:

Theories about physics (including time travel) come and go, but the one thing they all share in common (for them to be taken seriously) is that they are described via the language of mathematics.

I would also say that if bogz has offered his talents to ANY project, that project would have a formidible resource and presence when it comes to being able to present the project's work on the WWW, not to mention his ability to compose mathematical simulations based on the mathematics derived in the project. bogz is an IT asset to any project he would choose to participate in.

at least im trying to get something started. i stated that i wasnt a brilliant scientist, but i would HELP in any way i could. i even stated that i would devote a good bit of my life to it.

theres people from all walks of life on these boards, i just thought that maybe everyone could come together, make a plan, and get to it. i know it was wishful thinking, but i tried.

so, instead of doing what you just did, why dont you head the project? then your complaint will be rectified.

i expected nothing to come from this thread, i just had to give it a shot and put it out there.

i agree, i think that everyone here would be a great asset to the project. i like you all, and as silly as it sounds, i think teamwork would be our best bet.

sure, i dont know anything about physics, but darby does and you do, among others. sure, i cant model something in a cad program, but im sure one of you can. sure, some cant think like tesla did, but others can. if we combine our strengths, we could make something happen, and everyone here knows it.

i dunno, im a lil aggrivated. i feel like everytime i try to do something good, regardless of where i am, i get knocked around, and the spirit i wished to uphold gets lost in the "rush."

I did not mean to take a derogatory tone against you, and I am sorry if it was taken the wrong way. I was merely lending strong support to bogz. I first met him here, and have known him at my own forum for quite awhile. It was NOT a dig against you and what you have attempted here.

One reason I do not head such a project is because I have been (and will continue to be) quite busy in my two professional jobs, not to mention my personal life. Because of this, even my own personal research into what I call the Integrated Matrix of Massive SpaceTime has fallen off drastically.

That being said, there are certain "problems" that would have to be dealt with if any such project were attempted to be run through an open, public forum such as this. First and foremost is the problem of trolls, which are common to all forums. But this forum has an added problem: trolls who insist upon pretending to be time travelers. Research and development is not performed in the "wide open" for good reasons... it becomes a bit like trying to herd cats. That doesn't mean that collaborative projects, focused on the internet could not be done. Only that they are most likely to gain significant momentum if they are "by invite only" and kept out of view of the "troublemakers".

Again, I did NOT wish to demean you in any way ruthless...only to second bogz's call for a foundation of research and development based on mathematics. Sorry! :oops:

Lenz's Law has math associated with it, but I don;t need to calculate the energy interactions between electrons, gravity, and magnetics to understand the principle and make a contraption which uses the effect.

The math will be needed anywhen we're trying to navigate.
