IS this for real? Did John Titor really disappear? Honestoly, noboday has heard from him? That is sooo freaky. I mean, wouldn't it be easy just to trace his phone lines or something?

The guy fronting the hoax doesn't do it any more if that's what you mean. Some say it was just a publicity stunt for an upcoming movie, but one thing is for sure, Titor was NOT a real time traveler.
 
Why the need to assume it was only ONE person? Think about it... if there are several "fairly smart" people who get together to pull a hoax, the chances that (with coordination) they could put forth a seemingly "really smart" person are quite high, no?

I use the term "Group Titor", and as I point out in another forum/thread, it would seem several of the long-time "personalities" surrounding the Titor story fit well into the elements defined in the classic Greek Tragedy format.

One thing is for sure, it is CLEAR that it was a well-thought-out ploy just from the fact that any "holes" that may permit the story to be falsified were either disallowed to begin with, or are being "filled" post-hoax by the "players" who remain on the scene.

I agree, Only in my view the numbers were quite limited. The Montauk project is another example of large numbers of people coming together to put out a lot of disinformation.

Hiding - quite hard to accept - truthful elements mixed within false fantasy. A LOT of people will have been involved in that one, including certain organisations. Yet the people that front it - are made to look more intelligent then perhaps they really are...

Serina Sembalo is said to be a factious person, by Lepri, however interviews Ronaldoss, who is a real person, who one day has curly hair, then the next, looks like Charlie Sheen.

Renolds Electric did no file suit, over the use of their brand name on the said displacement unit used by Rititor.

I enjoyed the story and am a new fan. I know it's fake, but that's besides the point.

I think they should of been more realistic on the social aspects of the things he said...a bit more using of "military bearing" with their alledged harware and his descriptions of things military related (the sloppy crooked placement of the stickers, alledged "shotgun" units). Had they put a bit more time into it and been less obvious with the infrastructure in the aftermath of John's "departure" ($ angles on several sites), it would of been even more entertaining.

I can't help but picture some geek who lives in a mamby pamby world where he daydreams about civil wars with an oppressive government, and thinks of himself in his fantasies as a time travelling post nuclear holocaust hero akin to John Conner. He even went to buy himself a shotgun so he can drive into the country with his "temporal time displacement unit" or whatever he called it, and pretend he is blowing away the terminator units or government agents with his trusy shotgun....maybe. I do hope that they are planning a movie and there is a way to reap some sort of $ reward for this. Not only would it be an entertaining film, but it would be so sad if some geek just made the stuff up to backup a bs lamer fantasy. Seriously, it can only be 1 of 2 things:

1. A lamer whos life is centered around making himself out to be someone he surely is not.
2. A hype plan for later developments.


Even if it was #1, whoever the guy is should get busy and cash in on it...before someone else perpetrates a similiar legend.


and one can't say in my opinion that someone else pulling it off would not work because it would be too similiar to the John Titor story...because the John Titor deal is too similiar to too many other fictional stories.

Seems to myself as well whenever someone posts a good debunk in certain places it is removed...so obvious.
 
I thibk the reason for Titors hoax is both financial and political. We can only guess though because, although there maybe talk of a movie and other side-offs, I don't think it will ever happen.

However, the best explanation is definitely some geeks, with no life and nothing better to do.

I guess in the end, it may depend on if anyone actually wants Titor's future, and they are not telling us, or if the scientists are actually going to come up with something about time-travel, or not. It is a debate.

Otherwise, I do not know. I do not like Titor's Future and the shytty feelings that go along with that.
