"and posted it for the world to see!
ill be expecting to claim my prize now:D"

prize for what? learning how to use fade in vegas video? not impressive at all...

if i still had a videocamera, i'd show you how its done.

"Actually Steven Antles did a better job with the videa back in 2001."

he did do a much better job, but he didnt do anywhere near good enough. its just a green screen with effects added. you can see the laser pointer hit the green screen lol.

and why in the world is he holding a multimeter and a vaccum cleaner?!

i wish 'ol titor would come and show folks how its done again. :D

I guess that the Royal Canadian Air Force didn't have the same quality prop room as Group Titor did. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

"I guess that the Royal Canadian Air Force didn't have the same quality prop room as Group Titor did."

if that was from the canadian air force, i feel really bad for them. :D

i came up with a really cool TT story, but you know me, i tend not to lie. so heres what im going to do, im going to go ahead and tell everyone that im going to make up a story, post a video, and show these goobers how its done.

As I recall, in Steven's story he was working on a super-secret RCAF time travel project...but it didn't go so well. Scientists disappeared into the MiB Void, etc.

I gotta argue with Darby. I like Mr Antels video better even though it's low resolution but it was NOT lesser technology. I've been using NL video editing software since premiere 4 and the same features are still there, they are just easier to use and less buggy. He was using a better (read greater tech) camera, it shows, even through the video is encoded using the now antiquated WMV format. They both need better lighting.

First video was a screen matt, just keyed out 1 video channel, brought up the other. The other video was not a green screen (they were blue back then werent they) regardless, it's just a lense flare with 1 channel for video, not as fancy as 1st and nothing was keyed out.

I would like to see ruthless's version though. He could probably combine the lense flare and screen matt from the first videos, add some camera shake, sound effects and some credits that tell people to visit TTI. It would look pro, I have no doubt.

No need for after effects in either video. You can do it all in premiere. After effects is good for fake blood, or adding effects to a small section of the frame, 1 frame at a time.

actually i came up with this goofball story of how the sony psp could be hacked to use zero point energy via infrared and wifi ports. i was going to hold a psp, do a backflip and land on my back. i would then take the footage, reverse it, and also edit it to make it look like i was just laying on my back and then got sucked up. i would then add some effects to make it look like i got sucked into a rift, then edit back to nothing. really simple, but would look much more realiistic than these.

i wouldnt use anything from those videos though, the effects arent very good in my opinion. i would use vegas video to edit, maya for some of the effects, and a few other "secret" progs to get the effect i wanted. the effect would look similar to what mr. titor described.

the buddy im moving in with has a video camera, so i might do it soon in my spare time.

oh yeah, and i wouldnt put a link up for tti. not unless they were willing to shell out some peanuts or something. like i said before, i WILL work for peanuts! :D

i will also take ham sandwiches as an alternate form of payment if your allergic to peanuts. :D

Awsome, I go straight to 3d software for any effects too. You can do much more than any premiere plugin or After Effects treatment. I use lightwave though because it's what I started with and I never do any character animation (dont have the patience).

One thing I never got into was HDR videos. I don't even know if they are possible. I saw a still frame though of someone who took a 3d model from Halo and put it into an HDR scene. The lighting applied to the model matched exactly the lighting from the scene. It was the most realistic thing I've ever seen. Master Chief was standing in this guys driveway, I've never seen a 3d/live blend that looked so seamless. HDR video would be somethin else...

LOL. I think the funniest part was when he excused himself to go and find a needle. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif LOL

Oh, and Steve Antle said his movie was just a promo to show the Canadian Government. He never said it was a person actually time traveling. It was just to show them how it worked.
Darby knows this but I see he forgot to add that. lol /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Can't wait to see Ruthless's video. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Pamela,

You know...as I was writing the post I actually considered adding that part because I knew that you would notice that it was missing. But I left it out because I was only giving the Reader's Digest version of Steven's story.

S19n,

The lesser technology I was refering to was the quality (not to mention expense) of home digital camcorders and the Internet itself in 2001. We've come a long way since then. Steven could get just about the same quality video with a relatively cheap cell phone today. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

guys im not really following this conversation...
thanks for watching my video....
and if you would
some of you leave comments on youtube...
Thanks for all the responses so far...

What we're refering to is that you aren't the first person to post a link to their time travel video where the "time traveler" rolls a long one-shot in front of a stationary camera and does a disappearing act. The first one that we're aware of on the Internet was done by "Steven Antles" in 2001.

We commented at length on Antles video back then so there's probably not much to comment on on your video because it is virtually the same video.

I suppose that it would be fair for me to ask what is it that we should comment on on YouTube? The quality of the video; production values; acting; is it real?
