We had Near Earth Objects at the end of 2004 and the beginning of 2005 that passed about 21,000 miles from this Earth. I think they were much closer and still many remain that actually may even hit the Earth. Those rocks may do more damage than some bright Comet too far away, unless you are talking superstition which no one should go by, even in this World, as in the Past, at least nowadays.

The quatrain does not imply that a comet will hit the earth. It predicts something bad happening after Mabus dies and a comet passes.
