I have been sent from the year 2011. It has long been rumored that this forum was visited before by another time-traveler. I hope my attempts to warn you are not futile, for I realize that it is hard to believe someone who makes a claim to have come from the future. In the year 2009, there will be a terrible earthquake hundreds of miles out in the pacific ocean. I cannot divulge exactly where it will take place due to the distortion it may cause, but a tsunami wave will envelope highly populated areas in the south-pacific. The death count will reach one-million. I hope I have not said too much, but even if I have, perhaps this event will not occur.

I know you must be curious about my journey, but I know nothing about the machine that brought me here. I am a Major in the United States Air Force. I was sent back to an office I worked at in Amarillo, Texas to relay this message to you. Please, take precautions in the South Pacific. To lose a million souls in the course of 72 hours is such a terrible tragedy that will change the course of the world and spark major, equally awful events. I only have time to await for one reply to know that my message has been received. Please, take precautions.
 
Our worldlines do not differ so much, so there is a good chance this event will occur and can be stopped. We have had the ability to travel time for about seven years, meaning it was possible to travel in your current time. An alliance of physicists and the United States government had kept time travel secret until it was realized the catastrophic world events this earthquake and tsunami would cause almost two years later.

What is your temporal divergence from you time line to this time line, value is usually in a percentage? If you don’t have the value do you use temporal divergence in you time line. This will give us an indication what type of time traveler you are.

I do not know an exact numerical value, but what I do know is that since I have come from 4 years ahead of you, the divergence should not be significant enough to change what happens in the south pacific, however, nothing is certain. It was a risk we were willing to take.
 
I must be going. I'm sorry I could not explain the situation further. I can only hope, upon my return, that things will be different. If this doesn't work, things will look very grim for mankind. I feel as if I am a test subject rather than a messenger. It's shame, even toward a bitter end, our governments still keep the truth from us.

Indeed we have been visited by "another" time traveler. You're here right on que. The last one, Gigajak, appeared two weeks ago according to the "Once Every Two Weeks Theory of Time Travelers Who Know Nothing About the Physics of Time Travel".

You chose the wrong handle. "IVth" should be "LIVth" - you're about the 54th time traveler here to warn us about one thing or another and who knows nothing about the physics of their gadget.
