I am really a Time Traveler!

I have come from 70's, I am unfamilliar with color computers, ok no I just made all that up, but seriously, if you want people to take you somewhat slightly a tiny bit seriously you gotta make props and take pictures of em, or draw the props and scan em, etc... be creative. Lets face it the people here like pictures, so try to produce some.

Get to work you time travelers!

Razimus,

We should create a checklist for "supposed" time travelers. A List of questions we ask which would prove-disprove if someone is a time traveler or not. Included in this list would definitely be some form of "Draw/Diagram or take a picture of your time machine, please indicate all components and how they work."

What do ya think?

Yea, I thought about that, something I would check would be car designs or lyrics to songs, but
then Darby said math would be a way to check them, but they might just dodge the questions.

Yes but dodging a question tells you as much about a person as their answer would. And I don't believe the BS "I don't know anything about my time machine I just came in it". There is no way a time traveler would be allowed to go back in time without a set of rules, an understanding of the technology, possibly even armed with some form of self defense, maybe even a personal cloaking technology. The point is, a true time traveler, if they Came to these forums, and were willing to disclose information, would Know certain things about the future. Popular songs/lyrics, and I don't just want to hear "Rock and Roll" I want the name of a group and some lyrics and other popular music.

I would like a lot of math/physics questions. They would absolutely have an understanding of how the machine works, what makes it possible to determine a destination time, what the powersource is, how to get back, etc etc. The people without these answers are obviously selfish and immature and have nothing better to do with their time than makeup fantasies about Being time travelers.

Ren,

And I don't believe the BS "I don't know anything about my time machine I just came in it".

I agree and I think that most reasonable people would also agree.

But the most common counter-argument that is posed goes along the lines of the "average" Air Force pilot knows how to point his/her aircraft in some specific direction, knows that if you pull the stick back buildings get smaller and push it forward and they get bigger...but doesn't have a clue about how it all works.

Of course that's nonsense but I think that those people actually believe that its true. How do you debate someone like that?

They believe the same thing about time travelers. I don't think that a time traveler would have to be a physicist any more than an Air Force pilot needs to be a physicist. But a GED isn't going to hack it.

As I said on another board, it's a long way to the nearest Arco time machine station if you travel from 2036 to 1975 and you have some sort of system failure.

It's probably not good time traveler etiquette to let a couple of black holes get out of their confinement vessels in some distant place-time because the GED teacher didn't cover advanced E&M, electrical engineering, particle physics or General Relativity.

Darby,

You're just Hilarious I Love it...

I agree Time Travelers are not going to be idly sauntering by until they get a shot at a time machine.

Actually, most airforce pilots I know, end up knowing a Lot about their aircraft. Its turning radius, its max speed, cruising speed, fuel capacity, weapons capacity, radar signature, basically they know everything about the way it flies. Most of them will even be trained on the basics of flying at super sonic speeds, including the g forces associated with such speed, how to cope with blood loss to the head, what the aircraft can and cannot do. Many will even know the way the aircraft is built, the inside and outside of the engine, the basics of the computer and electrical system, etc etc.

I'm saying even a second string air force pilot is going to know more about his aircraft than many of these so called Time Travelers.

I did have a thought though, What if people could be sent into the past but couldn't return? Kind of a one way trip, I would tend to think the equipment that makes time travel possible may not be Mobile, thus maybe it cannot come back with the person who travels through time.

So they shoot ya off to the year 1990 and say "Goodluck have fun and don't show up in any of the papers or we'll know about it!" lol
