How to Prepare for a Pandemic

We all know that viruses spread like wildfire. I personally think viruses like the flu already ARE a pandemic and vaccines don't always work, but that's beside the point. Are you ready for a true, deadly Pandemic? What would you personally do to prepare or is there even anything we can do about it?

The following article below says to:

Develop sealed air venitlation -- no air from outside

Create a sick room/quarantine area

Stock up on Essential Oils -- meh, personally I haven't found evidence of these actually working, but to each their own.

Set up Sanitation Stations

Use disinfectant

Plan for safe burial

I think these things would make more sense once you fiind there is a pandemic at hand.

There aren't many of us that have an empty room that we can just let sit with no use before this happens and who is going to have trays of bleach sitting around their house? The fumes alone are dangerous. So, I feel this article leans more towards advice to follow if a pandemic is announced.

Thoughts?

Duct tape and plastic on all windows and doors as well as a small super activated carbon filter with a part time Ozone generator may help.

Create a sick room/quarantine area

The same zone room may also help if you have a wash down shower stall.

Stock up on Essential Oils -- meh, personally I haven't found evidence of these actually working, but to each their own.

Iodate and anti-Biotic pills and ointments may also help?

Set up Sanitation Stations

We built an attached greenhouse on the south side as a wash down area with a built in drain and kids play pool and shower. Also have 25 each full Bio suits with gloves and mask to use if we need to venture outside.

Use disinfectant

A garden sprayer may be used for large jobs but a Lysol can will do for the small areas.

Plan for safe burial

Got a farm tractor for that, as it also works for when we can more the green house plants back outside?

On a side note: It may help to keep yourself and kids away from school and other groups of people for a long time.

@walt "We built an attached greenhouse on the south side as a wash down area with a built in drain and kids play pool and shower. Also have 25 each full Bio suits with gloves and mask to use if we need to venture outside."

Wow, you really are prepared.

Air, Water, Food, Shelter, Communications, and Transportation should all be looked at as the base line for our future if there is another civil or world war in soon. Even if you are old with one leg in the grave and the other on a banana peel, you should think about building a safe place for your not so smart friends and family members as a way to help them survive.

It seems like every time the "Collectivist" gain power they fuck shit up to the point where it takes 10 to 15 years to unscrew the damage.

Trump may not have enough time to undue and unscrew the economic harm done by obastard's eight years in power?

The forces of evil are still hard at work trying to undermine Trump's efforts.

It may take another world war where the useless eaters in the cities are killed as described in some "What-If" books.

One second After and "Lights Out" are two such books that should be read as a way to better understand what may happen.

A friend wrote a book that may be close to what our future may look like if Hillary had won the race for the Whitehouse.

"Enemies foreign and Domestic" is a book about what life be like if Hillary had won.

Or if you just read the non fiction books of past wars you may see what life could be like during war time?

The average American will die, but The choice is theirs to make. My wife keeps telling me that I should stop acting like the Jackass whisperer. Even at 70 years old I continue to try to help others and I keep getting kicked in the teeth for my efforts. I'll share more about Ozone and super activated carbon. Both may help if you live in a somewhat air tight home. The greater problem will come from the folks that like to visit others or touch their mail that has a bio issue, or pick up a box or can at the store that a infected person has touched. It goes on and on, but you get the idea?

Are basic face masks and latex gloves effective? Should I have these in my survival kit?

What about iodine to prevent radiation poisoning?

Iodate is better than Iodine, There are many types of respirators mask on the market that may help, however it helps to study the protection grade of all types. Example: A nerve agent may kill if it gets on your skin in just minutes while radiation dust is most deadly ingested. I ordered the purple gloves with Kevlar to lessen the odds of a tear. Your home budget may determine your ability to prepare, so you'll need to start slow and over time you may meet most of your needs "Before" the SHTF!
