Temporal Novice
Great forum here. Today's is the day I registered. I've been a member for years (That's a time travel joke...)
I love topics like this. I'm an avid hobbyist in some odd fields - primarily building small nuclear fusion reactors and other high-energy devices; extolling the virtues of the (newly discovered...) CRISPR-Cas9 genetic editing technology in combination with Telomerase activation (Google it... it's just getting started, but in about 20 years, it'll be a HUGE issue for global economic forecasting. But we'll be so wrapped up in the geopolitical mega-quake caused by fusion energy coming online that most governments won't be able to effectively deal with the biotech sector... but I digress - learn about it now, you 'll thank yourself in 100 years. Perhaps literally). I also watch the timeline of development around what is currently referred to as "warp drive", starting with Alcubierre's metrics and the subsequent exponential improvements that - if graphed - would suggest an actual timeline for the realization of the technology.
Anyway, I get a kick out of time-travel stories and the search for some science behind it. Huge fan of Doctor Who with a particular fondness for 11 because he reminds me of me when I'm being a bit more laid back.
I won't be posting much because there's really nothing I feel I can contribute, but will enjoy the occasional conversation with like minded folks, and will probably post a quick blurb when various major milestones in any of the above-mentioned technologies transpire.
