Geo-Thermal Energy

I am really astonished that there hasnt been more attention to using geo-thermal generating stations. I used to live in So. California, and the area was full of hot springs. It seems to me that at this stage of technology, that a combination of solar and geo-thermal systems could be integrated to successfully generate power.

I know that one hot spring in particular puts out water at 104 degrees. Not hot enough to run a generator, but I think it would be close enough to set up some type of power plant.

Even at Yellowstone, there seems to be enough geo-thermal activity to set up quite a power station. At least until the area blows up as a huge volcano.

Just to let you know... I've had the pleasure of vacationing and working in New Zealand in my life. And I found out that they have built 3 geothermal powerplants in their country that take advantage of natural geothermal energy vents at specific spots on those islands.

Geothermal, Solar, Wind, Wave.... all of these and more are pieces of the final solution to Energy sufficiency for humans to live, clean and free. No one solution is the "magic bullet". As with other systems we see that when several different solutions blend together with each other that something new, something "better" emerges from that intermixing.

Seeing as how you are now in Texas, I wonder if you might be looking into the possibility of installing a solar energy system for your home? I can help you model it mathematically, and if you take sunlight readings at your home over the next year we can figure out how much energy you might be able to generate from such a system.

Whaddya think?
