I always enjoy websites that put predictions of the ultimate destruction of mankind into perspective. The following website is one of them.

Mine you, this is just ONE LIST on this website and it is ONLY chronicling all the various predictions that said the world would end between 1900 and today. There are other pages on that site that deal with prior predictions, and even some that go WELL BEYOND the Y2K38 "UNIX bug". I especially like the persistence of one Charles Taylor who kept coming back every few years with "OK....this time I REALLY mean it!" :D
So, as we can see just from the NINE PAGE list above, people have been doing this (and getting it terribly WRONG) for centuries now! Any reason we should listen to the likes of our latest (and resident) gloom & doomer, hdrkid? Naaaah, I didn't think so either.
