I had a day dream about that old conjecture of building a bridge around the equator.
I put it here in 'fiction' because it's pretty 'out there' but was an entertaining thought nonetheless.
'So yeah, take that archaic build a bridge around the entire equator conjecture - do as prescribed, knock out all the supports simultaneously so that it 'floats' (precision timing obviously required) - then have intervals 'spinning' the band and then take the energy generated to fuel space expeditions and an external power source to fuel massive batteries for the/future space station/s.
Would make for a good sci-fi story basis if nothing more - as long as the homework is done properly, no?
