Experiment

On June 7 2007, I was asked by members to post a message in the past at a predifined date, April 27th 2006. Also, the answer is 5
Nice try...someone thinks they can bugger my time traveler test. Unfortunately, this won't work. For now I am going to ask you to go back to February 12th, 2006 and post the following message "I am a big, fat, faker who cannot possibly achieve this feat."

Got game? I do!
RMT

PS - Oh yes, and I will be sure to be around on June 7, 2007 (it's actually my big brother's birthday!) to look for this request...and I will even post another one at this time, asking you to post something very specific on April 27th, 2006. Too bad you have to wait until then to know what I am going to ask you to post today! Nice try, but you fail to think very deeply.

With all due respect this “experiment “ does not make sense. Although your post does not rule out the possibility, it will not prove your existence as a time traveller. If by chance you are comminucating on the same timeline at dates 06.07.07 and 04.27.06, your post on 4.27.06 is recorded and available on 06.07.07 The message is a subtle causality violation that has the potential to alter the behavior of those that asked you to post on 04.27.06 when June arrives. It can be seen already with requests to provide additional postings prior to 4.27.06. Afterall you will be called upon again, and I hope you are not expecting a verbatim conversation in June. If you are indeed a traveller and are trying to prove yourself, why would you waste resources with this obvious shot in the dark? /ttiforum/images/graemlins/confused.gif

dont u get this is why u cant go back in time!!
if he travelled back from that time, then that time is happening now, im which case you would have already asked the question in 2007, and the answer would already be here!

That 'test' would only work if time were linear which it is not. I could go into more detail, but basically your mind(this instance anyway) lives in the here and now. It's perception of time is linear. It has no knowledge or perception of other time lines. If he were a time traveller and were to go back to that date and post that message it is not going to magically appear here to us in this line. A minor splinter would occur in which that post is made on another time line(needless to say one in which that exact request would never be made because the answer would already be there which would cause you to make a different 'proof' request). Your past as your mind perceives it from 'now' can not be altered. If someone travelled back in time and killed both your parents before you were born, you wouldn't magically disappear from 'now', you just wouldn't exist on another time line.

are you saying that by time travelling and changing events, we create a parrallel universe? or that the parallel universe already existed?
as well as that, if we "go back in time and kill our parents" or whatever other paradox u want to use, but it doesnt affect us, then we havent really gone back in time, just to the same time in a different universe...?
