An empty universe is scary. I have a hard time processing that something so gigantic would contain so little.
It's like assuming Earth is the only place ever with life. We're tiny in the infinite void around us.
Like you suggested, the idea of a time traveler ending up in a universe with no humans and no civilization... It would be a huge risk of getting stuck. But so are dinosaurs!
