Ecce Signum Code Partially Broken

Hi everyone, I was searching on the net after watching the movie Jumpers and found your site; it seems to me there are a lot of smart people here as well as some who are a little over imaginative. I have really enjoyed reading many of your thoughts and ideas as well as trying to solve a puzzle by “Ecce Signum” which proved more difficult than I figured (nice job Ecce). I noticed that it had been read many times but no one had tried to solve it so I thought I would give it a go. None of the online code breakers I could find turned out anything useful so I decided to try another way and I believe after two weeks of trying I might have cracked the first line.

I created a excel sheet and entered all the numbers of the first line into it, my object was to substitute all the numbers with possible letter equivalents. Unfortunately I could not get the excel sheet to formulate it automatically so I had to do it by hand. There were 11,648 possibilities in the order the numbers were written, so that was 11,468 possible sentences. After painstakingly going through them highlighting the ones of possible interest, I then decided to mirror all the words to see if I got any more. Once I had compiled a complete list of sentences I was pretty sure might be anagrams I went to an anagram website.

The line of most interesting was “Bless Faulty Sals Sins” - Which incidentally was one of the last ones I entered, typical. When I entered it into the anagram site it gave me this rather disturbing rephrase “Assassins Bullets Fly”. I then entered this into the various search engines I use and got various results about assassinations but the most recent assassination I found that related to “bullets” was that of Benazir Bhutto. So I did some more research to find out if the first sentence of ‘Bless Faulty Sals Sins” related to this in anyway and was quite shocked to see there was indeed a somewhat wayward connection. Structural Adjustment Loans are also known as “Sal or SALS” in the world of banking, which strangely enough the IMF made to the Bhutto government. It turned out that the IMF were deeply concerned and unhappy with the way she had handled the money when she received it, so much so that it was one of the reasons she was over thrown and one online report I stumbled on even claimed the IMF may have been involved somehow in her assassination.

This seems unbelievable to me if this was indeed a coded prediction? I also looked up the word “Seriatim” which is Latin for “in order or sequence”, so what I want to do is try to unravel the other two codes to see if this was just a coincidence. The only problem is that I don’t want to spend another two weeks doing it the way I did it, does anyone have any ideas? It seems some of you are very good at solving riddles and if it helps I can copy my working notes here (or upload my excel doc if I can do that) so you can see how I did the first line. It took a long time though and there must be an easier way.

I have read lots of freaky stuff over the years, but this is the first time I have been a part of something that has made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
As you know I believe I cracked Ecce’s first code under the title ‘Seriatim’ (which means in order/sequence) and before I tell you what has really freaked me and my wife out today, I will offer some more information on how I did that – if you want the excel work sheet for that one please leave your email here and I will email it to you.

What I did after determining or deciding it was probably some sort of replacement code (alpha/numeric) was to look for what I call ‘anchors’ such as the second number 9 in Ecces first line of code. You will see it is preceded by the number 4 and followed by the number 1 which gives us three possible options: 49, 9 and 91. But as there is no letter with a numerical value above 26 which means it has to be number 9 and therefore the letter ‘I”. This is one of the most basic codes and even my children can do it, but where it was confusing is that he/she mirrored the letters before swapping them for numbers and this makes it look like scrambled egg when you apply that basic decipher. It also makes finding the right letter a little more difficult so I calculated every possible combination and then just added all the letters creating the tables I spoke about earlier.
So the first numbers of 19149 were broken down like this:
1-9-1-4-9 = AIADI
1-9-14-9 = AINI
19-1-4-9 = SADI
19-14-9 = SNI
Some from the middle section: 191912119
1-9-1-9-1-2-1-1-9 = AIAIABAAI

Now obviously this is slow and throws up a lot of useless unreadable data, but when we mirror them we find many readable words and sentences such as the line ‘Bless Faulty Sals Sins’ that fitted perfectly and is an anagram of ‘Assassins Bullets Fly’ – which I now am convinced was the intended message.

‘Bless Faulty Sals Sins’ which is the first line of Ecce’s code was broken down like this:

Now using this same technique and without the need to do as much work because I had the basic formula (alpha/numeric and mirrored) I believe I have cracked the second line of code and this is what freaked me out especially as it says they are in order.

Which I broke down as:

And mirrored it says: “Moping She Mourns Hotel So Remote”

Which is an anagram of: “Let Moshe Promote His Guns No More”

Not being a very religious person I had to search what ‘Moshe’ meant and I found out it was Hebrew for Moses. So then I searched Moses I got a lot of religious results but nothing significant so then I searched ‘Moses Promotes Guns’ (my wife was laughing at this one) and got this headline result: “Charlton Heston, actor, gun activist, dies”

I researched some more as I knew Charlton Heston vaguely as an actor but didn’t really know too much about him and then I discovered this: “Charlton Heston (born John Charles Carter; October 4, 1923 – April 5, 2008) was an American actor of film, theater and television. Heston is known for having played heroic roles, such as Moses in The Ten Commandments” and “he later supported conservative polit

politics and was president of the National Rifle Association” – my wife stopped laughing. I did more research and found out he did promote guns and had been quoted as saying that they could take his rifle “only from these cold dead hands”.

Now listen guys, I am new here and new to this type of thing to be totally honest and this has really freaked me out. Is it some sort of trick? Am I getting it totally wrong and just seeing what I want to see? This seems unlikely though as I never knew what I was supposed to see, I had no idea just thought it would be some fun to crack a code and put words in the anagram websites. At first I thought maybe I could have gotten many different interesting results from all those words if I kept feeding them into anagram programs but I know I did thousands and got many more thousands in stupid silly nonsensical results. Then I get these two that actually mean something and have happened and in the order Ecce said. Please Ecce if you are there let me know if it is one of those number/word tricks people do at party’s where whatever number I say they find a way to get to it. I just want to know so I don't go crazy thinking about what a fool I might be. My wife says I should stop coming to this site but I actually don't come much anyway. I haven’t considered what if this is genuine? What if Ecce really knew this stuff and unlike other people he played it really low key and casually left these messages there – no one even bothered to post a reply to it – and if so for what purpose, why predict something and not tell anyone, doesn’t make any sense it’s strange.

What if you read into the second permutation of the anagram what you wanted to see? It's a stretch to equate "Moshe" with Charlton Heston considering that he played Moses in The Ten Commandments a half century ago.

“Let Moshe Promote His Guns No More” could just as easily be interpreted as a pro Palestinian message for Israel (Moses) to back off - which is bit more contemporary than a reference to a 1958 movie.

Likewise "Bless Faulty Sals Sins" can be interpreted as both a blasphemy and another pro Palestinian message for Israel. "SAL" is a Hebrew acronym for "God" (Samech Alef Lamed, the Hebrew alphabet for those letters spelling SAL - one of the 72 names of God).
 
Hi Darby, thanks for adding some input into this. I have read some of your posts and they mostly seemed well informed and objective. However at this stage I have to respectfully disagree with your comments that insinuate Ecce’s coded statements or predictions are politically orientated. ‘Let Moses Promote His Guns No More’ – Moshe changed to its present meaning of Moses – brings up 6 out of the top 10 search results on page one of Google that specifically relate both Moses and Guns to the recent death of Charlton Heston. This is how I was able to make the connection and would like to propose that it is a far less of a ‘stretch’ to do so this way, than it must have been for you to make a very ‘interesting’ connection to both Israel and Palestine? Actually as well as the obvious on this particular code, the fact that the statement uses the word ‘His’ is very relevant as nearly all land masses to my understanding are generally referred to in the feminine sense due to the natural connection with Mother Earth.

I do concede however that the first deciphered code ‘Assassins Bullets Fly’ – please note that ‘Bless Faulty Sals Sins’ was the anagram before it was fully deciphered– was not as straight forward and obvious as the second code. I say this for two reasons; One being that entering the text as it was written doesn’t necessary give you the same initial positive and conclusive results that code two does and also there seems to be some dispute (depending on what statements you read and on what date they were published) as to whether Bhutto was indeed shot at all. However, having said that there is a clear connection to Bhutto when you view the facts that she was assassinated and the assassin did fire bullets at her, which is something very rare in itself in this day and age – an assassin using bullets as opposed to the more modern mechanisms for undertaking this crime – and the fact that there are many search results that do directly connect the three (Bhutto, Assassination and bullets) especially when the researcher includes words such as assassinated, assassinations and recent assassinations in their search criteria.

So my conclusions after having time to think about it without the added distraction of hair standing up and especially when I place the whole coded message post in the parameters of Ecce’s other posts on this board (which I find to be very intelligently written and well thought out, in fact so much so that I couldn’t help but get the feeling that Ecce was using his/her posts to extract more information from the reader than he/she was actually offering to them) is that Ecce has indeed intentionally left messages that have adequately if not 100% conclusively predicted events in the order he stated. The real question is for what reason? What is the relevance of offering these predictions that seem to have no bearing on anything other than that they would prove he/she had some prior knowledge or as the case may be just be an extraordinary guesser? Perhaps you would care to reply in person Ecce please?

I just want to state Darby that my comments to you are sincere and in no way meant in a disrespectful manner.
Finally the third code (if I have deciphered it correctly) reads: ‘Beware of Reds Munich” – I have not had time to research this yet.

I wasn't insinuating that Ecce's messages are or were politically motivated. The point was that anyone's interpretation rather than a simple decoding is a crap shoot. The interpretation ends up saying more about the interpreter than it does about the writer.

The spin that I put on the couple of lines that you posted doesn't reflect any belief on my part that that's what the the writer's intent was - or that there was any intent at all other than to have the lines read verbatim. It was just a quick interpretation, based on "clues" in the decoded text that make perfect sense...even if it has nothing to do with the writer's real intent. We don't have a clue about what the writer's intent was or whether he/she was just another OETW comedian who likes to laugh at the community members.
