I leaned into rounding up factual details of the John Titor story I'm writing up (for my hobby writing project). I was adding in a few final points to Part I prior to publishing it when I noticed a flaw in Titor's claim. He said he was visiting 1975, the year the 5100 was released, to obtain a 5110, which in fact was released three years later. As I have seen how time rewrites itself here and there, it's not a dealbreaker against the authenticity of Titor's story. However, it doesn't look good, especially since the internet, generally speaking, appears to have overwritten Titor's initial statement that he was returning to '75 to get the 5110, as if pulling the rug over this glaring error.
Please tell me if you remember what he said as being different from what the archives say. I am thinking this may be an example of what people call the "Mandela effect" (where some see history as having changed but others do not, and some even clearly remember the previous history line).
I know time rewrites and changes facts, and I suspect many others have seen the same. In my own story about the Mandela Effect, one story that happened to me once involved an apple disappearing that had been jammed in my toilet, waiting for a plumber. So even if archived information says 1975, it doesn't prove he said it. Humor me. I am sure that this has been asked before, though I did not find it. Share your thoughts, please.
