Consciousness VS Time

The past reside in memory
The future as probabilities.
But for the present consciousness
is the builder at that moment.

My problem with consciousness slightly
in the past would result in loss
in free will. But if consciousness
slightly in the future will allow
you free will to make hard choices
in the subconscious.

I also believe that all our consciousness
may be all in sink. The only way
I can prove this is a simple test.

Only send a time stamp to this thread if you
are conscious. Once done since
I am the observer will I verify your
date with the posted date thus
concluding the experiment. This will
prove we all exist in the current now.

My primary aim to this thread is to prove
that we are in the same time frame
of time and determine wether we have free
will or not. Slightly in the future we
have free will or slightly in the past no
free will.

Anyone wish to add.

These are just thoughts on time travel
I have had recently and have no
particularly attachment to them.

There is actually a rather fundamental fallacy in your experiment.

You have no way of telling the difference between someone whose consciousness is a day ahead...and someone who IS actually a day ahead ( i.e posting tomorrow ).

And someone whose consciousness is a day behind is not going to respond anyway as to them you haven't posted yet.

If a person from the past does not respond then we are all out
of sink, if he does respond we then are all in sink.
End of Proof.

The neat effect of all this is if we are all in sink time wise
then there can be no past since no one is there anymore?!
Thus time travel may be impossible since nothing is there to
go to or everyone will be zombies back there.

Lol....no...you are missing the point.

If a person from the past does not respond.....it is equally as much because they ARE genuinely in the past !

Your entire hypothesis falls over...because you have no way of distinguishing between someone who is physically and consciously in the past....and someone who is physically in the present but consciously in the past.

If a person's consciousness is in the past....they will just as much not see your post as someone who is both physically and consciously in the past. There will be no difference !

It is thus impossible to prove that disembodied 'out of synch' consciousness actually exists.

Do you get what he's saying Designer? If I am actually in the past, then you have not yet posted this thread. Therefore I have no way of knowing that I should respond to this post because it does not exist yet to me. It does not mean there is no past.

However the interesting prospect here is, if ever somebody from the past would post to a future thread....then you have yourself a genuine time traveler /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
 
You guys are right but I am not
willing to give up just yet.

I am giving up on the consciousness
idea.

Here is my new test.

Compile a list of all TTI users
e-mail them that they will be e-mail
again shortly in which they must
respond immediately.

The e-mail trigger is sent to everyone
in which everyone send you an e-mail back.

But here the catch if someone is 3 days
in the past it will take 3 day from me
to get to him in which the e-mail was
sent.

Three day expired and send an e-mail to me
in which his e-mail is late getting to me
with his date stamp not matching mine.

But unfortunately this will fail to work
as well since you can only send information
to the past and not the future.

The good news we are still in business just
the absent from that person e-mail is enough
to indicate that individual is in the past
since you can't e-mail to the future.

So if all member all respond then we are all
in sink. If all member don't respond then
someone people are in the past with respect to us.

So tell me what wrong with this setup since
consciousness is not involved anymore.

I know that 100% of the e-mail will come back
but the question is why?

Now that we all agree. The reason why maybe this case will work is we cannot reply to me in the future
but only to the pasts present after a 3 day delay in getting the mail trigger(from me).
