Hi gpa
That is exactly what came to my mind when i read "mapping out the jungle".
I think humans have to dumb down 3D to 2D, to grasp it or better said to communicate the information.
The honey bee dance(s) HAS(HAVE) to be in 3D in my opinion, as the world they fly in isn't 2D, is it?
Other animals "map" quite good....birds, ants, bees, whales, fishes. I am almost forced to say way better than we do.
Sorry for drifting a little away, so back to topic.
You a very specific with your posting Paula, so i guess it's pretty easy to answer.
Humans seem to be the only creatures (of which we are aware) that can transform a 3D objects to 2D with art.
With art ?????Havent seen any cave painting from birds.....SO FAR!
Well, not counting stork poo on rooftops!
3D art without converting it into 2D?
Pretty much possible i would say.
There are birds decorating their nest to impress their possible mate and crabs decorating themselfes to get l..d.
In my opinion that kind of behavior demonstrates that at least some kind of artistic evolution is going on there.
So afterall it
seems we are the only ones so far in this solar system to dumb ourselfes down in order to communicate complex things in a two dimensional way.
It
seems that made the trick in our evolution.
Anyway Paula, interesting thought you had there, thx:thumbsup:
