A Titor Prediction?

verboten

Temporal Novice
Hello,

I have been looking at this forum for a while and felt I had to register so I could post this. I don't know if Titor was a real time traveler or not but I am now leaning toward the possibility that he might be. Even if he is a fake, it is still a very good story. I have read John's posts and even bought the Book 'Tale of a time traveler'.

Recently, I have been keeping a real close eye on news storys that might coincide with Johns predictions. The other night, I was telling my wife about John and some of his predictions. We were discussing his claim about non-lethal weapons turning out to be quite lethal when a new story came on the TV.

First, here is basicly what John had said

"The US government will be use non-lethal weapons against it's own citizens - that are in fact very lethal"

Here is the news story that I mentioned earlier.

"Pepper Spray Under Scrutiny Following Red Sox Fan's Death"

What started out as a party in Boston after the Red Sox got into the World Series quickly turned to tragedy.

Wednesday night,a 21-year-old woman died after she was hit by a projectile filled with pepper spray.

Her death is raising concerns about whether the method police used to squelch the riot was excessive.

Kimberly Houk took that question to the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Department.

"They can cause injury, but they're not supposed to cause death."

The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Department turned to pepper balls to help control a riot during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

Since then, they have used the non lethal form of weaponry on a daily basis. It's an option that prevents them from having to use their handguns.

Nick Roberts/ Rangemaster, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office: "They're weapons that are designed to not cause death or serious bodily injury, but can."

And one did kill a 21 year old Boston girl last week when it struck her in the eye and caused her brain to bleed.

But there's conflicting reports about whether police were using pepper balls or pepper bullets.

Boston Police aren't saying but there's a big difference between the two.

Roberts says pepper balls are considered non-lethal, and that's why Salt Lake County chose them.

But pepper bullets, which are also referred to as FN 303, are heavier, carrying both pepper and soft steel, making it possible for them to penetrate on contact.

They're considered less lethal.

Roberts: "All these items are designed to help preserve life, and less lethal is a force that is not intended to or designed to cause death."

Roberts says all officers have to go through extensive training to use the weapons. Part of that training is learning where it's safe to shoot the human body.

Roberts: "They're going to be aiming waist and leg area to get people to move."

But in Boston, witnesses say the victim was shot at head level. Police say they were shooting higher to get people who were climbing the green monster at Fenway Park.

Roberts: "I can tell you now, those officers back in Boston are going through hell right now."

Roberts says his department is keeping a close eye on this case. It may determine whether pepper balls will continue to be used in Utah.

Roberts says the number of officer involved shootings has gone down since police started using the non- and less lethal weaponry.

Boston police announced this weekend they are switching the pepper-spray gun to a weapon that fires pellets at a lower velocity."

I would like to hear any thought about John

I'm with you my friend

It's all starting to unravel let's remember this was 2000/2001 this was all being stated along with him correcting Stephen Hawkings.

"Heed the warning signals"

If the knowledge about Titor and the timeline by Titor would also change the timeline, then how do we know for sure, what is actually supposed to be happening, is happening?

I know a lonely man, who fell in-love with his blow-up doll, as he could not get it on with a real woman.

This affair became more and more complex, till one day he had to admit, that he was really starting to have some feelings for her.

What he did not know, is other people began to notice him taking her around with him, in his personal automobile, the affection he privately showed her at certain drive-off spots and the conversations that he had with her at dinner.

These accounts were all cam-corder taped and audio as well.

There was such a facade built around this piece of plastic, that everyone thought the man had a lover, when in fact, he had none.
What is more important, love for an ideal, or love for something certainly tangible?

It is pretty scary. Who would have thought in 2000 that police would feel the need to use pepper spray guns on kids celebrating the most popular american sporting event?

Do you recall when someone asked Titor this question?

"You say the civil war lasts from 2004 to 2008 and then the short big war in 2015. What do the years from 2008 to 2015 look like? How long does WWIII last."

Titor responds:
"I'm not sure I said that exactly. By 2008, I would say the civil conflict is pretty much at everyone's doorstep."

What would be at everyone's doorstep ...besides an election. How about a military draft of both men and women?

What about cjd?

I'm sure people think it's interesting, but if Titor is right, we as a society are too lazy to do anything about it. I know I wouldn't risk it. Can you imagine trying to stand up for your rights and being arrested for supporting terrorism, and then going to jail with no chance of a trial.

I'm just going to sit back and be the typical lazy american he spoke of. It is interesting though .... all the 'coincidences' I mean.

The only other interesting thing that came out of it for me, was opening my mind. I never, ever, ever thought I would believe time travel was possible. And now I do.

kat,

Oh, probably every police officer in every city (not just in the USA) that had a world baseball, basketball, football or World Cup champion.

There's been a riotous celebration in the city of the champion for many years.

The problem in Boston involved giving the officers new equipment that they had not been trained to use. Any tool that uses kinetic energy to propel some sort of missle can be deadly if it is improperly used.

Perfectly true point you make, Darby. As living here in LA, we have seen mini-riots break out in and around Staples Center the night that the LA Lakers won the championship in 2000 and 2001.

People get out of hand...and they have gotten out of hand for a long time. The more it grows, the more naturally police officers are going to need to learn to quell such disturbances. Take it from a guy who lived through the LA Rodney King riots... I don't want something like that happening again, and that means keeping crowds from getting too far out of control in their zeal. Sometimes it is necessary, but if everyone celebrated peacefully, it would never be necessary.

But what are the odds of everyone conforming to celebrating peacefully, I ask? History shows the peaceful trend decreasing, and I think this is where it is government's job to prevent riots that claim life and property. Isn't this what law enforcement is supposed to do???

Darby:

That was a pretty fair hit. I'll take it. I guess I'm a little old fasioned and think the police could take people away with handcuffs. After all, that did pretty much scared me as a teenager.

And my point was more about the type of weapon. Sure, using an actual "pepper spray" I can understand, but didn't they say that in order for it to penetrate into her head, that it was a "pepper spray bullet" (reinforced with steel)?

I once sprayed pepper spray on my brother as a teenager and got some on me as well. The stuff really hurts and I would frankly be very afraid if a cop came out with a cannister of it. I just could actually never imagine reading an article saying a young incident girl was shot with a pepper spray 'bullet'. I feel very sorry for the family to have to know their daughter died like that.

And what about those stun guns, where one shot should work and officers are shooting people 4 or 5 times and killing them?

Honestly, when Titor first said

"Yes there were biological and chemical weapons used. No mind control weapons but there are new "non-lethal" weapon systems that turn out to be quite lethal."

I could not even imagine what kind of weapons he was referring to. And I can pretty much say that the parents of that young girl would have never imagined it either.

Please note in this thread, that by now, there are two saids of people being shot by authorities.

One was the Miami protest where a woman had her ear torn by a gel pepperball and two the after game riots, yes' riots, of the New York based ballgames.

So the starting point seems to be unclear?

kat,

I'll agree with you that the police chose the wrong tool for the specific incident - and then misused the tool under any circumstance.

Kinetic energy based "non-lethal" weapons are never to be used by projecting the energy head high. A pepper-ball is a deadly weapon if it is shot at the face. The young lady was hit directly in the eye with one of the balls and it pierced the brain cavity through her eye.
