In the last....many years I have seen my share of people claiming to be time travelers. Many somewhat credible, others utterly delirious, still others completely delusional and none real. However, I write today because I did found something particularly odd. Regardless of whatever measures are to be taken by would be time-travelers none of them did anything to protect time, the future or anything in between.

Also, most were rebellious, anarchic and had an attitude to boot. On the following thread I urge you to share with me what you think a time traveler should be.

I believe a time traveler should be smart, open minded, culturally, socially and spiritually qualified since no time period is better than any other and societies, religions and cultures raise and fall like the sun.

They should be brave, intelligent and gentle-people who are capable of listening to others and understanding societies and cultures beliefs and traditions with great clarity.

Finally, they should be resourceful and quiet....not letting others know where they came from.
 
I agree with both of you. The ideal time traveler should be as you described transient001. Almost an ambassador of time and history. However, john's version is far more entertaining. ;)
 
I agree with you transient and I'm working on improving myself for the better. Resourceful or also adaptable to any situation would be nice. Sadly I can't time travel right now but maybe someday.

Oh and they need to know language and how to communicate in different times with the different languages and communications. Lots of research. I'm on my way there, but it will be a little while.

That's right...resourceful and adaptable. Time travelers need to be very aware of their surrounding. I like the way you point it out....as ambassadors. They should be very careful and observant of different time periods and their customs. Of course the gun-blazing time traveler is more appealing than the one I am describing.

Skarpz, you will be a great Time Traveler someday.

And thanks Transient. I'm on my way. Somehow, someway, someday, I'll time travel. Don't know how it will all turn out yet.

If not it could be in off topic section or fan fiction under How to be a time traveller or something like that. I din't know somehow someway it could be possible.
 
I was thinking...that all time traveler should know the history, legal aspects and cultural patterns of the various time periods they are visiting; otherwise they could seriously alter time and initiate the formation of paradoxes. In this sense they should be highly trained people, with objective minds and a great deal of tolerance and patience.
 
I have tolerance and patience and working on my fears. just trying to figure out the next step to time travel but because I need a cure before time travelling I can't time travel.
