Think of all the money that could be saved in plumber bills, if people tried this simple little trick for dripping taps....
So, your tap is leaking...drip...drip....drip. Time to call the plumber ? Well, try this first :-
Turn the tap on FULL. Try to screw the tap handle round as far as it will go.....without jamming it and getting it stuck. Leave the water running for 30 seconds or so. Then turn the tap off again. Stopped dripping ? Amazing....eh ?
( Actually it works best for the newer type of taps where the tap handle 'unscrews' on a thread. This process gets rid of any gunge that was blocking a clean seal. It also moves the washer a little so that a different area of it connects. I've done this successfully three times now in as many years.......that's a saving on callout bills )
