Remember what life was like 8 years ago? Milk was a dollar a gallon. Gas was around 80 cents a gallon.
The US was not caught up in the quagmire of Iraq. Things like no knock search warrants and freespeech zones did not exist.

Life ain't going back to that. Now we have police armed with seizure lights and tasers. Gas is at 4 bucks a gallon and only going up. Food is getting REALLY expensive. Their seems to be no end to Iraq much like Vietnam.

i didnt get gas for that cheap 12-13 years ago. and yes, search warrants was around then.

heres a little secret, you dont have to worry about search warrants if your not doing anything wrong

Excuse me 1.80 as for warrants, yeah we have always had warrant but not these nice new no knock warrants.

I'm just saying 2000 was alot better than 2008. Alot has changed since then. Civil rights, gas prices, imperialism, The US we live in today ain't what it was back then....and I doubt we are going back.

"I'm just saying 2000 was alot better than 2008.

that depends on your perpective. i was homeless for the first few months of 2000 until i met someone who helped me.

You are correct, and I retract my comment. I had just returned home from a business trip when I read your first post and replied to that without reading the rest. I apologize.

Gas is anywhere from $4.65 to $5.30 a gallon.

So why did they put that thing in our Constitution? Something about freedom from unreasonable search and seizure?

That right protects us from our own government.

"So why did they put that thing in our Constitution?"

to keep power hungry assholes at bay.

"some did jump"

were you the first.

Gas was 99 cents in 1997 near me(NY), and I remember a station was selling for .79 cents and we assumed they had to be selling piss. But yes Gas was that cheap in 1997

"If it is to keep power hungry assholes at bay what are oil en doing in office?"

Everything happens for a reason and it always does. And no, 2008 is not as great(economically) as the past but it can definitely be better. We just have to look at alternatives that dont use gas. it is just time to evolve from gas cars to better types of cars not only economically wise but for the enviroment as well. Just like we evolved from Horses To cars. To me that was a more difficult task than the one we present right now. And by the time they say people were more ignorant and of course, they had less resources. So if they did it, why cant we?

Just a thought...
