To time travel, we must first learn the nature of time itself. After all, would you go sailing if you didn't know what water was?
So what is time? Some say the rate of the motion of your consciousness, others say it's the fourth dimension, and some even deny that it exists!
My personal thoughts on time is that time is an illusion. If time did not exist there would be no motion, and so talking if time did not exist makes no sense. Now if this is so, the word time is meaningless because it is just a normal state; there can be no deviation from it. It would be like talking about space changing; since space can't not exist it is pointless to talk about it.
