ideas about time travel.

I was thinking that faster than light travel would create a time travel effect, as you would effectively leave the state before you went in, and therefore travel back in time. Also - why can't a massive object travel at the speed of light. Yeah, ok infinite mass and everything, but couldn't that be used along with a strong gravitational pull to propel the object at super fast speeds? Why is the speed of light considered the fastest thing there is? why can't something go faster?
Well as the speed of light is the fastets ever known to man it is so considered. But is not fastest at all when compared with the speed of thought. The speed of thought is infinitly fast and has no limits at all.So now we have to find ways to use the thought to practical ways.
Good luck
