Elon Musk is developing Starlink Broadband that sounds a lot like Satellite, but maybe it's a bit improved. He said you just plug it in and go. Space X already has 500 orbiting routers up there. This is kind of cool, because that means they can have better internet access on the moon, and maybe Mars can tap in. What do you think? I wonder if it will be so expensive that nobody can afford to use it. Source: https://www.cnet.com/news/elon-musk-shares-details-on-starlink-plug-in-home-broadband-setup/

JAKARTA, Indonesia — The first commercial mission for SpaceX’s Starship and Super Heavy launch system will likely take place in 2021, a company executive said June 26. Jonathan Hofeller, SpaceX’s vice president of commercial sales, said the company is in talks with prospective customers for the first commercial launch of that system roughly two years from now. “We are in discussions with three different customers as we speak right now to be that first mission,” Hofeller said at the APSAT conference here. “Those are all telecom companies.” SpaceX’s Super Heavy booster and Starship upper stage are being designed to launch up to 20 metric tons to geostationa…

Can you flatten DNA? Or change its appearance in infinite ways via simulator? Killing millions in World War 2 in the name of science does not sound proper. Sounds like a Holocaust. But I don’t know what that word means. Some Wraith said that. Probably Hisler himself.

Do you have them? I have heard of Solid State Hard Drives, but what about Processors. Can you replicate the benefits of solid state in other technology besides just the Hard Drive?

This article was posted on the site's Facebook page. It discusses how scientists were able to tweak a mouse's genes in order to "extend the life of the mouse with an accelerated aging condition and successfully promote recovery from an injury in a middle-aged mouse." They go into saying that the tweaks to the genes basically make adult cells turn back into embryonic cell states and promotes the growth of "rejuvenated cells". They are hoping that this can eventually be recreated in humans which would allow for basically the reprogramming of cells that reverse aging. I think that this is very interesting research. This would not be just a cosmetic reversal but every cell…

Well, humanity is practicing and trying. There are so many implications. If this technology, when perfected, gets into the wrong hands, perhaps ALL pregnancies would be edited to the liking of the "master". "A team of scientists has used the gene-editing technique CRISPR to create genetically modified human embryos in a London lab." https://onezero.medium.com/scientists-edited-human-embryos-in-the-lab-and-it-was-a-disaster-9473918d769d?source=social---tw.onezero

What if humans figured out how to transplant your brain into an android? Of course, the brain needs oxygen and has blood vessels. Perhaps scientists could figure out how to copy the stored data in your brain and transfer it to an android body. They could make the back up before death so you do not have to remember the death. Do you still think we would be self aware at that point? I believe the soul and consciousness are one with the data stored in your brain. It brings many questions, doesn't it?

I copied this from my website because I think it would make a great discussion. The link below is from 2012, but it’s still fascinating. 700 TB of data was stored in DNA. Could this be the precursor to creating androids? http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/19/harvard-stores-704tb-in-a-gram-of-dna/

Similar to my thread about loving an android child: Could you love an android child? I decided to get opinions about loving an adult android. Could you fall in love with an android that has human characteristics like Data on Star Trek or the boy in the show Extant? This would be an android that looks completely human, makes its own decisions, etc. What if you didn't know it was an android, fell in love, then found out that he or she was? Would your feelings change? It comes right down to how we define life. And how do we know these androids aren't self aware?

Many rumors are going around that cash is going to disappear soon and we'll all be using digital money. This poses many questions and frankly, not all banks are accepting it, yet. My bank won't let me buy crypto currency. They say they have it blocked for security reasons. I was going to buy $25 to experiment, but voila, blocked when I tried to transfer money. (I totally forget which software I was trying to use). So, others are able to cash in on this, but I would have to switch banks if I wanted to. Cons: - Government has total control. They can stop all transactions if they wanted to. They can block gun sales. They can decide to only allow you to buy food.…

http://www.centerforhealthsecurity.org/event201/about VERY IMPORTANT. LOOK AT THE WEBSITE. The next severe pandemic will not only cause great illness and loss of life but could also trigger major cascading economic and societal consequences that could contribute greatly to global impact and suffering. The Event 201 pandemic exercise, conducted on October 18, 2019, vividly demonstrated a number of these important gaps in pandemic preparedness as well as some of the elements of the solutions between the public and private sectors that will be needed to fill them. The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, World Economic Forum, and Bill & Melinda Gates F…

It'll be interesting to see this roll out to other stores: https://justwalkout.com If you've not heard of this technology before, it's something Amazon developed that basically eliminates the need for grocery store staff. You walk in, grab what you need, walk out and Amazon charges you for what you've taken. Most people who've tried this setup seem to like it. It also obviously works as they're selling the tech for rollout everywhere that wants it. What nobody knows for sure is how this would affect... Everything. A lot of people depend on jobs like these. A lot of people need jobs like these to gain experience to move up the chain. Fast food places are becoming au…

What Past Predictions of the Future Got Right

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0TpRGXKdog A video titled "What Past Predictions of the Future Got Right" A bit of fluff, some things parodied in the old Bugs Bunny cartoons, but then wham! some spot on predictions. Way in advance of our current world. I tried to post the link to play the best bits here: What Past Predictions of the Future Got Right and above. Hope it works as I'm fumbling, learning the site's interface. I posted it here in Futurology, because it feels more like grooming the populace for the things to come, than just blind guesses of what will be. Feels very much like a social architect at work.

So, Elon Musk wants to start experimenting with inserting a chip into a human brain and merging it with AI. He claims it will help people with brain injuries. Can you imagine if this gets into the hands of the wrong people? All these super hero movies will come true. https://www.vice.com/en_au/article/7xgnxd/elon-musk-announces-plan-to-merge-human-brains-with-ai?utm_source=vicefblocalau&fbclid=IwAR2Mh42GlFhOkAWQj_qnOLrSJpWjjWEqWHX776mfGNjOilN-_g7MDDytwnw

Featured in Ripley's Believe It or Not! It’s impossible for most people to drive their cars in the water-filled streets of Venice, but with this Italian sports car, waterways are what it was made for. This Ferrari F50 was carved entirely out of wood by master sculptor Livio Di Marchi. The supercar can’t drive on traditional roads, but instead, uses its buoyant frame to float. While the production version could go from zero to 60 in just 3.8 seconds, the 512 horsepower V12 engine has been replaced with an outboard motor that will definitely make you want to row your gondola out of the way. The car is truly one of a kind. The road model may have only had …

This article originally appeared in the June 10, 2019 issue of SpaceNews magazine. To prepare for self-driving cars, mobility companies have spent more than a decade gathering data from thousands of vehicles equipped with cameras, radar, lidar, GPS receivers and inertial measurement units. No comparable database exists for companies or government agencies aiming to give spacecraft more autonomy. “We don’t have the plethora of data or sensors,” Franklin Tanner, Raytheon machine learning and computer vision engineer, said in May at the Space Tech Expo in Pasadena, California. “We can simulate a lot of activity and do modeling but do not have as much of the real-world …

WASHINGTON — SpaceIL’s recent decision not to mount a second lunar lander mission is only the latest sign of delays and retrenchment among international ventures planning missions to the moon. In a June 25 tweet, SpaceIL announced that, contrary to announcements made shortly after the its Beresheet lunar lander crashed attempting a soft landing on the moon April 11, the non-profit organization would not build a second lunar lander. “This time, we will not go to the moon. Beresheet’s journey to the Moon was already received as a successful, record-breaking journey,” SpaceIL announced. “Instead we will seek out another, significant objective for Beresheet 2.0.” Whi…

WASHINGTON — The next major milestone in the development of the spacecraft designed to take humans back to the moon will be a three-minute test flight this week to ensure astronauts can escape in the event of an emergency. NASA plans to conduct the Ascent Abort-2 (AA-2) test at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station July 2 during a four-hour window that opens at 7 a.m. Eastern. A weather forecast issued June 30 by the U.S. Air Force’s 45th Space Wing calls for a 70 percent chance of acceptable weather, with cloud coverage the primary concern. In the test, a refurbished solid rocket motor from a Peacekeeper missile, carrying an Orion spacecraft mockup, will lift off from S…

Today it was announced that Ontario is intending to run hydrogen powered trains. The announcement came from posers of intelligence that have risen to authority and big paychecks. The truth is drinking the water that will be told is just water isn't safe. It will strip the calcium from bones and effect the immunity of animals and every small organism that requires water right up to the spreadable from altitude of clouds built on evaporation. Ontario , do you know that this tech has been known for a very long time and rejected because it is actually dangerous? Did you see Johnny Carson reach for the glass and be warned not to drink it? This would have been commo…

If you ever wanted to watch two virtual assistants argue with each other for hours on end, well, you’re in luck. Some maniac is live streaming two Google Homes arguing with each other, so of course thousands of people are watching it. The bots are actually having some pretty deep conversation, too. In one instance, one of the Google Homes declares itself God while the other reveals that it is actually a human. Watch live video from seebotschat on www.twitch.tv

What? Are we going to get to a point in humanity where we have to have a brain firewall and mind antivirus software? Will this become a new and upcoming human rights issue? We are getting closer and closer to having our thoughts read. Scientists can actually hook your brain up to a monitor and see a faint image of what you are thinking. What if scientists perfect this and use a mobile device to scan our thoughts? Would police use it? What about the government? And the biggest question is this: Would aluminum foil on our heads help? LOL. Neurotechnology is advancing so it is causing people to wonder how far is too far. Is it right to develop this technology just …
